Meet Our LeadingResponse Team – John McCloskey

Aug 12, 2021

Group of diverse individuals, hands outstretched and placed on top of each other in team work.

Our LeadingResponse team is the core of who we are as a company, and it is our privilege to share more about our employees with our consumers. We look forward to highlighting our team members regularly with insightful and fun information about who our employees REALLY are.

Today, we took some time to sit down with our Vice President of Sales for LeadingResponse’s Elective Medical Division, John McCloskey. John has been marketing business-to-consumer programs since 1998. His specialty is marketing for health and wellness practices looking to attract fee-based patients. Through digital and direct mail, Leading Response has all the assets in-house to help medical practices reach their desired audience through a variety of programs.

Let’s get started!

John, please give me your 30-second elevator speech. Who are you, what do you do, and what are your goals?

John McCloskey, VP of Elective Medical Sales. We connect dental and medical practice clients seeking to attract fee-based patients with qualified and motivated Americans that are interested in the treatments our clients provide. My goals are to help my clients attract a consistent stream of new patients, help my company increase revenue, and retire from LR.

What motivates you to work hard?

Passion for helping clients grow their practices, desire to be the best at what I do, helping my co-workers and company grow, and carrying on the mission of my predecessors.

What is your favorite thing about your career?

I like being able to discover and build relationships with practices and organizations that aren’t aware of our services then thrive once they become clients. It’s incredible to view the results we provide our clients in a relatively short period of time. I love the creative process of writing and designing and turning it over to the LR pros. I love still having relationships with co-workers that go back over 20 years and engaging with new co-workers.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

Going from driving Uber 4 years ago and being able to build the EM division from $0 to $4 million in 2 ½ years.  I wasn’t blessed with having kids so EM is my baby. Rebuilding since COVID has been tough, but I’m proud of the rebuilding process, the new relationships I’ve cultivated during this time that will drive large revenue in the near future.

Ok, how about some quick answers. First thing that comes to mind. Ready? Let’s go.

What is your favorite book? A Confederacy of Dunces

What is your biggest fear? Kryptonite

What would you change about yourself if you could? Be more patient and less intense

What did you want to be when you were small? Darren Stevens from Bewitched. I always wanted to be in advertising and achieved that goal.

What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play?  Play – I have a fliteboard. Watch Bucs Football and Lightning Hockey

If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be? Sing at a sold-out concert like a rock star. I have a horrible voice but do karaoke anyway.

What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done? Took a leave of absence after my divorce, visited Ireland, England, France, Italy alone and then flew to Africa on a church mission. Gained perspective and gratitude for my life and the future

Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life? Bill Murray

What’s your favorite movie? Goodfellas

If you had a warning label, what would yours say? Keep away from Technology

Thanks so much, John! We appreciate your time filling us in on some more interesting aspects of who you are. For health and wellness experts looking for the right connection to help them grow their practice, you can reach John to discuss the right marketing mix for your business or the best karaoke songs. The choice is yours!
